Earlier this fall we held discussions of The Third Reconstruction: Moral Mondays, Fusion Politics, and the Rise of a New Justice Movement by William Barber as a joint congregational read with First Unitarian. Since many people either couldn’t get it or didn’t have time to read the book, we are going to hold two additional joint discussion sessions: Tuesday, January 23, 7:30 pm, First Church and Saturday, February 3, 1:30 pm, UU Society.
Barber offers thoughtful analysis of race-based inequality and a hopeful message for a nation grappling with persistent racial and economic injustice. The Third Reconstruction is both a blueprint for movement building and an inspiring call to action from the twenty-first century’s most effective grassroots organizer.
