How will the 2022 election affect the presidential election of 2024? The 14th Amendment bars any person from holding office if they “engage in insurrection.” Under current election laws, every state would have to decide whether to bar Trump from their 2024 ballot. Inaccurate communication on the economy, abortion rights, redistricting, gun laws and climate policy continue to make us vulnerable to individual acts of terrorism and disconcerting elections.
