Movie Night: “A Christmas Memory”

Date(s) - December 18, 2016
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Movie Night is Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  The movie is suitable for older children as well as adults.  This movie is “A Christmas Memory”, which is based on the story by Truman Capote.  It evokes a time (the Great Depression) and a place (the south) when Christmas was difficult to find.  In this award-winning adaptation of an autobiographical story by Truman Capote, Eric Lloyd plays Buddy, who at age 7 is dumped by his parents at the home of some elderly spinster relations. Luckily for Buddy, he becomes fast friends with one of them, embarking on a series of adventures in the Depression-era rural South. Patty Duke and Piper Laurie co-star in this charmingly nostalgic tale.  Pizza will be provided.  And maybe we’ll have some fruitcake.
