Forums That Matter.
Coffee, Conversation & Community
Community forums have been a distinctive part of UUCC’s faith tradition for over 25 years. Presentations by Cleveland’s leading authorities and academics cover current, thought provoking subjects with extended question and answer discussions. Participants from both inside and outside the congregation attend the forums, exchange views, and create a stronger, more accountable, informed community.
The weekly forums support UUCC’s “free and responsible search for truth and meaning”, our 4th principle, and encourage personal reflection, social action and individual and collective growth for all who attend. The forums cover a wide variety of issues that affect us personally as well as the communities in which we live.
Held weekly on Sundays at 9:30 between September and April, the virtual forums break new ground in the continuing search for truth and the importance of serving others.

The Economy and Covid-19: What’s Next?
Date: April 26, 2020
Time: 9:30 AM
The spread of Covid-19 poses evolving risk and impact to the economy – local, national and global. The U.S. economy is already in recession–one that will be quite deep, although hopefully not very long. This recession is novel, in that it originates from the large consumer sector of the economy–a sector that is usually quite stable. How serious might the “economic impact” of Covid-19 be? What steps are being taken by policymakers to support the economy, and how successful are they likely to be?
Speaker: Mark Sniderman, Former Executive Vice-President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, currently at CWRU Weatherhead School of Management.
