SUMMARY:Injustice to JUSTICE: A Community Forum
DESCRIPTION:With nearly two million people behind bars at any given time\, the United States has the highest incarceration rate of any country in the world!   WHY? And What You Can Do! \n\n\n\nJoin us\, Saturday afternoon (noon – 4 pm)\, December 6\, at the Cleveland Unitarian Universalist Congregation (21600 Shaker Blvd\, Shaker Heights\, OH 44122 )\, when a coalition of groups will host a community forum on the criminal justice system.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEmail racialequitybuddies@gmail.com to RSVP and reserve your seat. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n– testimonials from individuals who have been wrongfully charged\, incarcerated\, and exonerated \n\n\n\n– panel discussion exploring restorative justice \n\n\n\n– panel discussion on present efforts to eliminate injustice \n\n\n\n– Light Lunch provided \n\n\n\nThis event aims to promote meaningful dialogue and raise awareness about justice and equity issues in our society. Attendees can expect a panel of knowledgeable speakers\, opportunities for open discussion\, and resources for further engagement on these critical topics. Join us to learn\, share\, and collaborate towards building a more just community.The panelistChristina Swarns (pictured above )\, the national director of the Innocence Project\, is our featured speaker. Additionally\, we are excited to welcome local and state activists who will contribute to this important discussion.
