Our plate offering on Sunday, May 19th, will be for EDWINS Family Center. In additional to cash gifts, they need in-kind gifts. Please see a list of items needed below. We will have a drop-off area just down the steps near the main back door.
Items needed include:
- Infant and toddler clothing and shoes.
- Car seats.
- Older children’s clothing and shoes.
- Quad stroller.
- Toys for school aged children (electronics (not tablets), instruments,
- games, chapter books, enrichment materials)
- Children’s bicycles and tricycles.
- Outdoor play materials.
EDWINS Family Center
The center provides free high-quality childcare to children of returning citizens in a safe, stable, and caring environment. Our hope is to continue to break the cycles of poverty and incarceration and give our students and their families all the support necessary to succeed and thrive.
Why a Family Center?
- Very few childcare centers are open in the evening, preventing many parents working in the restaurant industry from finding safe places for their children to stay while at work.
- Historically, 79% of EDWINS students with children who begin the program do not complete it due to lack of childcare among other issues.
