Connecting the Dots: Equitable Farming & the Climate Crisis.
Join the UUJO Environmental Justice Team’s Connecting the Dots event on Sunday, November 21 at 5:00 pm. We will talk about farming equity and how it intersects with race, class, climate change, food systems, and more. Historically, Black farmers have struggled to get grants and funding because white farmers are getting the money. Black people lost their farms in the depression.
- What will we do if we can’t get fruits and vegetables from elsewhere?
- What’s being done to locally source food?
- What are the challenges and risks for Black farmers?
- How can we as individuals leverage community actions into policy?
