Members; Randy Partain, Allan Georgia, Mike Carney, Sharon Edmond, Michael Kuehn, David Kantor, Rita O. Jackson, Ken Kuehn and Ray Gonzalez

Worship

The Air Flow plan to improve circulation related to Covid-19 has been referred to B&G to begin implementing it. An Air King window fan has been purchased as a prototype to determine if its noise/pitch level will be low enough for Sunday Services in the Sanctuary. The fans will blow air out until the outside temperature is in the 70-to-75-degree range.

Sound system update: All Pro has installed the sound system as of 4/6 and provided operations instruction to staff and volunteers. Now that the new sound system work is completed, Warren Brown will upgrade the sound system for the hearing impaired.

ReGathering Committee:  the masking optional policy is now in effect at UUCC and the coffee hour with coffee has restarted. The ReGathering Comm. will continue to monitor Covid-19 rates and meet as necessary.

Events

A Celebration of Life for Dee Boswell was held on 4/8/2022 with a full Sanctuary and reception afterwards.

Buildings & Grounds

Repair of roof has been completed. The hallway ceiling and ceiling tiles work will be done latter this spring after testing to ensure that the repair to the roof is sound.

How to view persons ringing the doorbell when the door is locked. We are researching getting a video door bell to be included in our current security camera system. They will also look at a door camera system or intercom system that would be viewable by app.

Closing of building due to weather or other issues. The updated UUCC Emergency Building Closure Policy has been approved by the UUCC Board. We will no longer follow Shaker Heights School Board closing decisions but will use the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency) weather warning system as its guide when making building closing and reopening decisions.

Additional EV Charging Station: We are researching costs, etc. for installing an additional Electrical Vehicle charging station.

Operations manuals. OC discussed what areas should have a manual on how to conduct specific operations. Randy recommended that we start with all Ministries, e.g. Worship, Membership, etc., should have such manuals.

Communications

Internet: David reported that the Tech Team is recommending that a contract with Iconium Networks, a managed IT service provider, be completed to provide basic IT services. OC agreed and asked that this contract be signed and implemented ASAP. To help ensure that UUCC has strong cyber security, the Tech Team is recommending that all Staff and OC members take a series of 15 minute long classes on cyber security.

Social Media: David and Randy reported that the Social Media Team is developing a Master Plan for UUCC. A meeting on May 5th will be held with the Ministries, Social Media Team and staff to work on having an unified approach on how to present UUCC’s Mission and Goals.
