Energy Efficiency Project
The Energy Efficiency Project hired a reputable, environmentally conscious engineering firm to conduct a thorough audit of the UUCC building and developed options to make the building much more energy efficient and provide an efficient method for cooling our facility during the summer. Implementation of the options provided would also significantly lower our carbon footprint.
The recommendations from this report include the installation of new HVAC heat pump systems for the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, and a VRF system with dedicated outdoor air ventilation systems for the rest of the building. These recommendations would also require the installation of upgraded electrical systems to support these building improvements.
It was noted that the new systems could be implemented sequentially – the systems do not need to all be installed at one time.
The final report was submitted to UUCC’s Board in late Fall, 2023.
