Are you worried about climate Change? Don’t know what you can do?
One small act that has a big impact is to sign up for 100% renewable Electricity!
Did you sign up for NOPEC”s 100% renewable Electricity 2 years ago? if so, your contracted has ended or will soon end.
Two to Three years ago Our congregation launched a campaign to get as many of us as possible to sign up for 100% renewable Electricity. Many households responded and signed up through Ohio’s Electricity choice program, others have had Solar Panels placed on their roofs. Many of us chose NOPEC (Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council) as our provider of 100% renewable electricity. NOPEC is a non-profit aggregator made up of 235 communities that negotiates lower utility rates. In 2020 NOPEC’s renewable electricity was cheaper than its Standard electric mix. That is no longer the case.
If you signed up for NOPEC’s 100% renewable rate for 24 months your contract is now done and you will be automatically switched to the standard Plan. NOPEC will not tell you about the switch.
People and Businesses that adopt a 100% renewable electricity are making a positive impact on the environment. By choosing energy made from pollution-free sources, like wind and solar power, they are also helping increase the demand for renewables, and building a cleaner electricity grid and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Please check your bill, you may need to call your provider and see if you are still getting or if you want to get 100% renewable electricity. You may have to pay a little more. But by choosing 100% renewable electricity you are voting with your dollars for a cleaner world.

Choosing 100% renewable or green electricity is a small thing that we can do.
call me if you want to talk about this Debbie Wright. I am in the congregation directory. Join the Ministry for Earth group that meets the 2nd Sunday of month and join other UUCC members as we try to make a different.
