Lou Salza – Testimonial

I experience feelings of gratitude for the opportunity to pay forward now what was provided by congregants back in the 60s to me, Dell and my granddaughter Elise.  Back then, in the 1960s the UU congregation donated and pledged their money to build meeting and classrooms to provide the space and place to learn, deepen their spiritual lives, build a strong and safe community, and advance justice. We now benefit from, and take advantage of these gifts every time we cross the threshold into our building for worship, learning and fellowship.  We came to UUCC to find a safe spiritual place and stayed even after Elise moved out of state with her parents. We love this community, and take great pride in all the many ways UUCC serves and strengthens our communities. Looking forward it is now our turn and our privilege to donate our resources to ensure that we will continue to support and strengthen this community and future congregations in generations to come.  Back in the 80s we lived in Massachusetts where we sent our daughters to an independent school whose motto I offer to us all: “Mean Well;  Speak Well;  Do Well— Trust and go forward”

All of us who gather, learn, connect, share, and grow here with one another do so in a space built long ago by people whose gratitude and gifts then inspire us to do what we can now for ourselves and our children as well as for those who will look for and find this community in the future. Many thanks to all for a great start to our Capital Campaign! Trust and go forward! With gratitude, in fellowship, Lou
