Policy Change Across Institutions II: Prevention, Treatment and Diversion in the Cuyahoga County Criminal Justice System

Join us for a roundtable discussion with speakers who are implementing policy change to decrease incarceration and increase prevention and treatment for individuals with substance use disorders across the Cuyahoga County criminal justice system. 

Hon. Judge Lauren C. Moore of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court will present on the work of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court that prioritizes treatment over incarceration and endeavors to reduce carceral racial disparities for individuals with substance use disorders.

Hon. Judge Tonya Jones of the Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court will present on the Domestic Relations Court’s Families First Program that supports parents who are experiencing substance use and mental health issues. Alternatives to Incarceration TeamLisa Fair and Jaquetta Curlee, External Forensic Coordinators for the MetroHealth Office of Opioid Safety’s Expanding Medication Assisted Treatment Program (ExAM Program) at the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center, will present on how the ExAM program is helping incarcerated individuals receive treatment for opioid use disorder.

Rickey Lewis, Artist and Prevention Specialist, will present on his diversion program, “I care about my life & I care about your life.”
