Shirley Nelson Retirement!
It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that our office administrator, Shirley Nelson, will be retiring at the end of October. Shirley has been an invaluable member of our staff and community, both here at UUCC, and before that at the UU Society. Shirley is often the first person people interact with at UUCC – her calmness and caring have been a great asset. She will be greatly missed by us, and, at the same time, she deserves to pursue the pleasures of retirement. I’m happy for her.
We will be celebrating Shirley and all she has done for us on Sunday, October 23. We hope you’ll be able to join us in wishing Shirley a blessed, well deserved, retirement.
As co-chairmen of the Buildings & Grounds team we are pleased to announce the hiring of a new part-time custodian, Issac Glover, for UUCC’s Shaker Heights building.Issac comes to UUCC with many years of experience as a custodian in both schools and churches. His experience covers both custodial and repair/maintenance activities.
Issac started with orientation this week, and we anticipate that he will generally work weekday evenings and every other weekend.
Please join us in welcoming Issac to UUCC.
