Stewardship 2026-27 update

Email, 3/10/2026

Dear UUCC Community,

First, a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the generous hosts and participants who made this year’s Gratitude Gatherings such a success. Also, a special thank you to Rev. Elaine Strawn and Jennie Papp for giving so generously of their time to share their wisdom. These gatherings, with their conversations, connections and snacks capture the essence of what makes our congregation so amazing.

For those congregants who did not attend a gratitude gathering, please check your mail for your stewardship packet.

Now, here’s where we stand: Thanks to your generosity, to date we have raised $43,940 toward our $600,000 goal. The campaign closes March 31st — if you haven’t pledged yet, now is the time. Every pledge counts, regardless of the amount. You can make your pledge here: https://tinyurl.com/UUCCPledge

At Sunday’s worship service on March 8th, I had the privilege of offering a stewardship testimonial. I shared what three years on the board has taught me — that this congregation does far more than most of us realize. Between all the ministries, justice work, and the partnerships, we have a lot to be proud of. I then reflected how this perspective hits even harder when I consider the loneliness epidemic. People are isolated and disconnected, some of them wounded by religion, all of them longing for exactly what we have here. I found myself thinking — if they only knew this place existed. We are part of the cure. And that cure runs on your pledge.

A few questions to sit with this week:

  • What is one ministry or program offered by UUCC that surprised you when you learned about it?
  • Who in this congregation has shown up for you when you felt isolated, lonely or burnt out?
  • Is there someone in your life who needs UUCC but does not know it yet?
  • Please pledge as generously as you can – mail your pledge card back or pledge online at here before March 31st — to keep the lights on, the staff supported, and the door open for everyone who hasn’t found us yet.

With gratitude and in fellowship,

Stewardship vs Building our Tomorrows: Two campaigns, Two Purposes

You may be wondering what’s the difference between the Stewardship Campaign and the Building Our Tomorrows Capital Campaign.

Think of it like your household finances: Stewardship funds our checking account (to pay staff, programming, utilities, and maintenance), whereas the Capital Campaign is for building our savings account in order to pay for a major renovation of our building.

Pledges to each campaign are separate. And indeed, congregants are asked to make a pledge to each campaign.
