Bekah Martin is our staff person in The Garden. She is joined each week by another caring person from the congregation to offer a space for our littlest UUs to play, make friends, and explore the stories and rituals of our UU faith together
Sunday Morning
The Garden is open from 9:00am – 1:00 pm on Sunday, for crawlers (age 1) through kindergarten. Children up to age 10 may attend from 9 – 10am to accommodate early meetings. Then they are welcome to bring their family to our worship services that begin at 10:15 am in the sanctuary. After worship the 1st graders join The Garden for Chalice Children directed toward the prek, kindergarten, and first grade.
Wednesday Evening
The Garden is open from 6:45 pm – 9:00 pm on Wednesdays, for ages toddler to 10 years of age.
Guidelines
Children must be signed in by parent/guardian at time of drop off and signed out by parent/guardian no later than 1:00 pm on Sundays or 9:00 pm on Wednesdays. A phone number must be provided at sign-in so that the adult can be reached if needed.
Parent/Guardian must be on UUCC premises at all times.
Parents/guardians will be contacted if diapers need to be changed or if a child needs assistance going to the bathroom.
Children with signs or symptoms of illness, including but not limited to fever, persistent cough, or vomiting, should not come to the The Garden. If this occurs after drop off, a parent/guardian will be contacted.
Children of all ages, including those under age 1 or over the upper range are welcomed to participate in activities with their parent/guardian.
Please be sure to have a conversation with Bekah to let her know how your child responds best when they are experiencing big emotions or challenges that are frustrating for them. Parents/guardians are always welcome to stay with children if that will be something that is helpful for them to gain confidence and be comfortable in The Garden.
Following these guidelines allows UUCC to be able to continue to offer an age-appropriate space for our littlest UUs.
Please reach out to jenni.papp@uucleveland.org with any concerns or questions.
