Dear Congregation,

Your ministerial search team is doing the final editing of our Congregational Record, a huge undertaking that will be very satisfying to hit the “submit” button on, so it may be reviewed by the Transitions office at the UUA before it is launched into the ethers! Once it is approved, we will determine the best way to share the information it contains with the congregation. This task has really crystallized the wisdom demonstrated by the members of the congregation and church leadership in assembling a committee with such varied strengths and areas of focus and expertise! We have needed everyone’s efforts and appreciate each other more every week!

We look forward to spending some post-service time with you on Sunday, Dec, 6th at 12:30 PM when we host the virtual coffee hour on Zoom! We plan on providing an overview of the Search process thus far, and feedback from the Survey and Cottage/Focus Group meetings. We will talk about the Congregational record, and entice you with information about the remaining calendar and plans.

Among those plans, as we have been communicating, is the workshop the following weekend, Beyond Categorical Thinking, (BCT.) Sign up now for the BCT workshop with Keith Kron from the UUA to be held December 12th from 10:00 AM -2:00 PM with a 1 hour lunch break in the middle. There will be some pre-work for the time together during BCT, so make sure you register soon so we can direct you to the resources you will need to prepare for the workshop.

This program addresses concerns around race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, visible and invisible disabilities, as well as sexual orientation. Our participation in the workshop indicates that we are committed to diversity, inclusion, equity and justice. Your participation is an important opportunity to demonstrate our willingness to learn more about how to dismantle structural and institutional racism and how to create a welcoming congregation all people.
