11) Eighth Principle Vote, Amy Glesius, Board Vice President (20 minutes)
Presentation of Proposed Eighth Principle Statement of Unitarian Universalism by the Congregation by Nancy King Smith: The members of the UU Congregation of Cleveland covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.
Presentation of Proposed Amendment to Eighth Principle of Unitarian Universalism by the Congregation by David Kantor for John Bacon :
UUCC further resolves to continue meaningful dialogue concerning the words of the Principle and their meaning no later than the Fall of 2022.
Vote
First Vote will be to adopt the Eighth Principle of Unitarian Universalism by the Congregation with the proposed amendment
Second Vote – only if first vote is unsuccessful – will be to adopt the Eighth Principle Statement of Unitarian Universalism by the Congregation as originally proposed.
For both Votes:
A YES Vote affirms the adoption of the 8th Principle of Unitarian Universalism by UUCC.
A NO Vote does not affirm its adoption.

The Annual Meeting will be held live in the Sanctuary. Those who wish may participate virtually on Zoom.
UUCC Members who participate via zoom will be included in the quorum count and able to vote.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 12:15 pm, if the service runs long it may be a few minutes later.
