To be honest, the internet is kind of a mess right now, since it is reflecting back to us a world that is quite messy. Conflict, war and strife abound, and throughout those confrontations, our common humanity seems to be forever slipping away from our grasp.
So, how about something kind of ridiculous and kind of amazing to remind us how amazing human beings can be, when they have a mind to be. And that is very much the case with Electronicos Fantasticos! a group of Japanese experimental musicians with a knack for taking pieces of modern technology (or technology that was modern right up until recently) and turning them into unconventional music.
In this case, a disembodied, rotary phone is connected to a drum machine to create an entirely different kind of rhythm instrument. I have no idea, personally, what kind of music this is appropriate to, but it is EXTREMELY innovative and admirably creative.
