Food for Our Minds and Spirits: Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road

I’ve been clear about my reverence for Bo Burnham in a few instances at UUCC. His insights into what it is like to grow up with the internet, and his humor about the ways that digital life can make our lives better and worse is truly exceptional.

Some of his funny stuff is profound, but he’s also able to be profound by building on a silly premise, and the below (which is an outtake from his exceptional special “Inside” filmed during the hardest days of the COVID pandemic) is a great example: a song about why that chicken did cross the road.

I know it’s quite a fanciful idea, but it is dripping in UU values about dignity, worth, freedom and hope that the world can be a better place than it is. Watch it here!
