Every election is a fight for the world as it could be, as it should be. Each issue, ballot, and vote are increasingly critical in the Battle for Democracy. And as fall approaches, we fight on.
Yes, we have hope. Yes, we pray. Yes, we strategize, build relationships, learn from each other … and take action. Because power belongs in the hands of people, not politicians. And we need GCC to stand strong and stand together. We need you. There are things you can do right now to get ready:
Reconnect with a fellow GCC member for a 1-to-1 talk about the issues that matter most to you.
Start a new conversation — reach out to a GCC member that you would like to get to know.
Read a book about relational organizing … or something that simply gives you hope.
Donate to our Impact Fund, because injustice does not take a break … and neither do we.
We are gearing up for a fierce battle against gerrymandering, voter suppression, and voter depression. We are determined to get out the vote like never before. Make an impact by getting involved with our work. To paraphrase Rep. John Lewis, we are going to get into good trouble, necessary trouble to help redeem the soul of America.
GCC is also thrilled to announce that Lee Heights Community Church is the latest member of our growing organization! Led by Pastor Vikki Pruitte-Sorrells, Lee Heights Community Church is one of the original 13 Black Mennonite congregations in the U.S. The next time you see members from Lee Heights Community Church, introduce yourself and give them a hearty GCC welcome!
