Greg Nosan first walked into a Unitarian Universalist congregation in 1992, when he visited First Unitarian Church of Chicago and found his tribe. Since then, he has been an active member of five UU congregations, serving in leadership roles that have included trustee, adult religious education, building expansion, small group ministry, worship, and a variety of committees and task forces.

After returning to his hometown area in 2022 with his partner, Brandon Ruud, Greg quickly found a new spiritual home at UUCC. He currently serves on the Greater Cleveland Congregations Core Team and the Worship Team, and enjoys participating in couples and walking groups, Pride for All Ages, and many other aspects of congregational life. Greg especially values the ways UUCC encourages people to care for themselves, one another, and the earth with compassion and purpose.

Professionally, Greg helps lead his family’s real estate development firm, where he focuses on design, strategy, and operations. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Before returning to Ohio, he led the publishing program at the Art Institute of Chicago, and he continues his involvement in the arts by serving on the boards of the Gund at Kenyon College, the Print Club of Cleveland, and the Slovenian Museum & Archives. He also volunteers with Hospice of the Western Reserve.

When they’re not working or volunteering, Greg and Brandon enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, attending plays and concerts, and exploring the woods with their dog, Toby.
