Leadership Council Update May 2021

Meetings: 2021-04-01 and 2021-04-15

Items which were addressed by Leadership Council during our recent meetings:

  • A subcommittee (Ken Kuehm, Rev. Joe Cherry and Cat White) met to set Building Use Guidelines for UUCC for this stage of the COVID Pandemic
    • The Building Use subcommittee will meet again May 4.
    • Some renter clients were seen entering the building without masks and not social distancing.  Shirley Nelson wrote a letter to remind all renters that they are still required to wear masks and social distance.
  • Worship
    • The Worship Committee has plans in place through the end of June for Sunday Services. Allan Georgia and Mark Weber are working on a Summer Service series.
    • In anticipation of outdoor services and events, LC asked Mike Carney to recommend a more robust outdoor sound system. He recommended purchasing a Yamaha system from Sweetwater Music. LC approved the purchase. It would come out of the budget line item for service musicians.
  • Events
    • Sharon Edmond is planning the Auction for May 22 as a virtual event. It will once again be virtual.
    • LC rejected a request for an indoor classical concert in August because we are not scheduling one-time events. Will be discussed at the May 4 meeting.
    • Outdoor events: Moises Borges concert (May 29), Solar Panel event (June 7), Fresh Fork Market (Fridays, summer and fall)
  • Buildings and Grounds
    • New long-term rental: Preschool music
    • Internet and alarm systems are still being addressed
