Musical Happenings July 2021

Hello UUCC members and friends,

Summer is here and I’m so grateful to be able to see many of you in our in-person services! Thanks to everyone who has attended our outdoor services and to all who have helped to sing and play on recent Sundays. Some of June’s highlights have included Becky Burns, Molly Watkins, and Sophie Watkins singing “What a Wonderful World” so beautifully on June 6th, Aaron Burkle adding some very cool samba drumming to “May Your Life Be as a Song” in our June 13th service, UUCC Pianist Karin Tooley playing her own original composition in that same service, along with two beautifully-played works of Philip Glass, Robert Eldreth McDonald performing two of his own amazing original songs during the June 20th Flower Communion service, and everyone who joined in on our improvisatory singing and drumming during that same service on the 20th.  If you missed some of those amazing musical moments, rest assured there are more on the way! Upcoming summer services will feature more music from our talented members and from some old and new musical friends, as well as from Karin Tooley and from me.

I hope you all have a healthy and happy July and I look forward to seeing you at church!

In peace,
Mike
