Reports to: Senior Parish Minister
Directly Supervises: None
Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week. Includes working Sundays, generally beginning at 9:00 AM.
Compensation: $18-$25 per hour
Benefits: 3 weeks vacation accrued in first year, flexibility with scheduling other than Sunday morning which is required, and generous pension contributions after 1 year Hybrid position of Membership and RE Coordinator
Job Summary:
East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church’s Congregational Coordinator works with ministers, staff, and membership to implement the East Shore missional covenant to Love, Revere, Discover, Connect, with the goals of being a radically inclusive religious community that feeds the human spirit and heals the world.
This position assists the ministerial and lay leadership in supporting all levels of Membership Activities and all ages of Religious Education (classes, training, events, and programs) This includes supporting volunteers and families. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
The Coordinator position supports communication about our membership, our church and our denomination. The Congregational Coordinator serves as support staff for the Membership Team and Religious Education program, and reports to the Senior Parish Minister. The coordinator works independently on well-defined tasks and cooperatively with ministerial and lay leadership. Responsibilities focused on serving the congregation and is a Coordinator level position with the following responsibilities:
● Visitor support/point of first contact as well as follow up to contact
● Church wide- volunteer recruitment, training and support
● Communication with membership and families
● Coordination of materials for church programing and Religious education
classes (lesson plan and space preparation)
● Coordination of new member classes
● Communication of ideas, programming, and events
● Record keeping
● Policy implementation
● Opportunities for regional connection and development with peers
● Submission of monthly activity reports
Hours:
This position is part time (20 hours per week) and has both flexible hours and required hours at prudent programming–this includes but is not limited to most Sunday mornings.
Qualifications include
● Relevant educational experiences
● Experience in working with volunteers and the public at large and broader community
● Familiarity with the Liberal Religious tradition of Unitarian Universalism and the values of Unitarian Universalism
● Proficiency and Experience with MS Office Suite and Google Suite software
● Reliable transportation to and from work
