Search Announcement: Candidating

A Message from Your Search Committee

Dear UUCC Community,

Drum roll please……The UUCC Ministerial Search Committee is pleased and excited to report that we have unanimously and enthusiastically invited a minister to candidate for the position of UUCC’s first called minister during the week of May 29-June 6th.

We will provide many more details, including the minister’s name, after the candidate has informed their current congregation of their intent to candidate with us. We want to share the good news with you as much as you want the details, but must honor the integrity of the process!

The specifics regarding the schedule for candidating week are still in development with the search committee, and the Board. The candidate will have time to meet the UUCC staff as well as members of the congregation. Throughout the week, there will be a variety of opportunities to engage with the candidate in person, and/or virtually, as the candidate and their spouse eagerly agreed to come to town to be with us.

We do know now that our candidate will conduct two Sunday services, one on May 30th and one on June 6th. Please plan on “attending” these services. We will share details of the week as they firm up!

The culmination of the process requires a vote of members be taken on June 6th after the candidate’s second worship service. If at least 90% of the members present vote to call, we anticipate that the candidate will accept our call.

As a search committee, we have held fast to what we learned of the needs and aspirations of the members of the congregation. While holding to this standard resulted in us not finding a match in round one of the search, we are now clear that round two has presented us with a fantastic match who we wholeheartedly endorse. (Picture the Search committee members doing a happy dance here.) Stay tuned for more details.
