Should we put RADIOACTIVE OIL AND GAS WASTE ON OHIO ROADS?

We all want safe winter driving and in Ohio that means “salting the roads”. Where does that salt come from? The Salt mines along Lake Erie and ancient died up oceans? Or Radioactive Oil and Radioactive Salty waste from gas mining which has been used in Ohio on roads as a deicer and to control dust since 2004. Do you think this is a good idea? Want to know more?   Join Ministry for Earth, Sierra Club and the Ohio Brine Task Force Zoom on September 12 at 5 PM to learn more about this issue and what you can do to help.

The next Connecting the Dots action issue will be coming together to stop the spread of radioactive brine. ODOT has announced its intention to stop purchasing the deicer made from oil and gas well waste due to its dangerous level of radioactivity. Learn what is going on in the General Assembly and what each of us can do to stop the use of this brine entirely in Ohio.

Come join us on ZOOM, September 12th at 5:00 pm. Please register in advance at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYocOqgqDMvHdOgX-akNn-1ugQQw9ZYffN8.

We will hear from Cheryl Johncox of The Sierra Club and the Ohio Brine Task Force on exactly what brine is and the current Ohio legislature bills trying to promote its use. You’ll pick an action item at the meeting. We have quick steps to show your support for this environmental justice issue and more complex commitments that involve greater time and effort. The choice is yours – every action helps.

common product containing radioactive brine is AquaSaline sold at stores as a desalting agent for driveways and sidewalks.
