The “Unity in Community” Campaign is an initiative of Shaker Heights interfaith congregations, neighborhood groups, and local residents of the city to respond to emergency hunger and food insecurity.
This initiative started during the COVID-19 crisis, but will continue into the future. Join us to volunteer, while maintaining wellness, safety and social distancing protocols, to assist our neighbors in need.
We ask that all volunteers wear a mask and observe social distancing protocols. Volunteering should not be a source of health anxiety and we want to do our best to keep you, other volunteers, and those we are serving safe. Thank you for your cooperation!
The food pantry “Unity in Community Program”––of which our congregation is part ––has been trying to reach more people by emphasizing home deliveries. This has meant that a new batch of volunteers are needed who can take delivery routes.
Current needs for December 2021:
