UU Society History Needed

The Archives Committee continues with the work of caring for, storing, and making accessible the records of the church. The archives contain materials dating back to the beginnings of the church, many of which are irreplaceable.

Currently we are working on the big job of integrating the archives of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Cleveland (UUSC) and First Unitarian Church of Cleveland (First Church) in a way that fairly represents and respects both congregations and the 68 years of their separation.

We are looking for people from the former UUSC with knowledge about the UUSC and its history who are willing to be resources for the Archives Committee to call upon. We are especially interested in long-term members who were involved at the time the two congregations went their separate ways – people who “were there” and are willing to talk about it with us as we work to keep the Archives fair, complete, and dynamic.

If you were a member of the former UUSC and would be willing to share your knowledge with us by becoming a resource, please let us know. Contact us at [email protected] or speak to any member of the Archives Committee.
We hope you find this opportunity interesting – and fun. The Archives Committee is looking forward to having a cadre of resource people upon whom we can call to help us remember and understand our complete history.
