UUCC Recycles!

We are looking for 2 people to join our mighty, reliable recycle Team of Two.

UUCC is in Shaker Heights, a city which does not offer recycling services to churches.

Duties:
The recycle bins inside the church need to be emptied weekly, plus we have recently added one outdoor recycle bin that also needs to be checked weekly and emptied when needed.
Members of the team take turns checking and emptying the bins. If we have 4 team members it could be weekly, or monthly: we as team will develop a schedule.

Who can Volunteer/Skills? Volunteers need to:
Volunteers need to feel comfortable emptying the 6 recycle bins/stations inside the church and the one outdoor bin. This involves manually emptying the bins. You have to put your arm and hands inside the bins. These bins collect metal cans, plastic and glass bottles, plastic tubs. The custodial staff takes the paper recycling out to the bins in the church parking lot.

Volunteers need a place to take the recyclable items. Most team members use their own home recycling bins, some take them to the Shaker Heights transfer bins.
