Dear Members and Friends;
Our internet connection went down this weekend so we were unable to calculate and record the most recent pledges to provide updated campaign results. We have about 60% ( $368,655) of the funds we need to reach the $600,000 goal. We will publish an update as soon as one is available.
In the meantime, some related thoughts. There is an old proverb that says, “Money makes a good servant, but a poor master.” With a nod to Rev. Randy’s Sunday Worship Service theme of the Question Box, let’s explore some Q & As in regard to our stewardship campaign at UUCC.
Question: Why did the Stewardship Committee set a March 31st deadline for pledges if the pledges are for the July 2025-June 2026 Fiscal Year?
It is important to acknowledge that the pledges we make now represent promises to supply funds that will operationalize our budget for July 2025-June 2026. There are, however, several time-sensitive tasks that must be completed before that budget is adopted by UUCC. So even though July 2025 is three months away, the congregation’s pledge information is needed NOW so that Finance Committee members can draft a budget that is accurate and meets our staff, program and administrative needs for next year. That budget will be presented to the congregation at our annual meeting in June. Prior to June, it must be analyzed by the Finance Committee and ratified by the Board. That is why there is an imperative to get all our pledges calculated and that is why we set the March 31st deadline!
Question: I have not yet made my pledge—can I still fill in my pledge card out and send it in?
Yes; Please!!
Your pledge is not only needed and appreciated; an annual pledge (or donation) is a condition of membership at UUCC along with attendance, participation, and adherence to the Congregational Covenant.
You can still make your pledge by mailing back your pledge card, bringing your pledge card with you to the service on Sunday, ( give it to a Stewardship committee member, or put it in the Stewardship mailbox), or submitting your pledge online by clicking here:
If you didn’t receive your stewardship packet, or lost your pledge card; please email [email protected]
As we think about giving and what this congregation means to us and to the broader community in NE OH questions surface for us:
If not me; then who?
If not here; then where?
If not now; then when?
All gifts of hand, heart, mind, and spirit are sought after and appreciated no matter what they are and when they are offered.
Thank you for your generosity, participation, and attention!
Thank you for making your pledge as soon as possible if you have not done so already— and keeping faith with this remarkable community!
With Gratitude, In Fellowship
The 2025-2026 Stewardship Committee
