UUSJ Needs help with voting rights call

Your Help and Support is needed!

Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice, UUSJ, are trying to meet with staff in Sen. Portman’s office, on the topic of voting rights, with an eye towards both the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act (previously the For The People Act).

Sen. Portman is among those elected officials that seem to refuse to meet unless we bring constituents–that means you!

  • ASK: we, therefore, request permission to use your name and hometown to secure meeting details. Please fill out this google FORM, and reply to this email so Anna can try to lock in meeting details.
  • INVITE: we also want to clearly invite you to join the UUSJ Democracy Action Team if we get that meeting. These interactions can be fun, exciting, and a great way to live our values.

If you are interested do not hesitate to reach out with questions.

And, consider reviewing the WHWN handout or online platform (buttons), note the 9/15 Expert Opinion Briefing video  with Andrea Miller, Reclaim Our Vote / Center For Common Ground, and Sister Quincy Howard, Faithful Democracy, which provides lots of informative background.
