Living Questions of Belonging

Coming Out Day began as a movement for dignity, safety, and liberation. It emerged from communities who understood that survival was never an individual act. LGBTQ+ people found one another, cared for one another, protected one another, and built communities of resilience in the face of rejection. None of us is a solo act. No one is totally self-reliant. Every one of us is shaped by relationships, communities, ecosystems, histories, and countless acts of care. For LGBTQ+ people, this truth is especially visible. Across generations, chosen families, mutual aid networks, congregations, advocacy organizations, neighbors, friends, and loved ones have helped create pathways toward safety, joy, and flourishing. This service invites us to reflect on the many ways our lives are connected and to consider what those connections ask of us today.

Whether you’re a longtime Unitarian Universalist or visiting for the first time, all are welcome to participate in this inclusive space. Children and youth are invited to join our religious exploration programs, while adults are welcome to stay for coffee hour following the service.

Come as you are—no matter your background, beliefs, or questions, you are welcome here.
