Diversion Center Now Allowing Self, Family, and Friend Referrals

Greater Cleveland Congregations, (GCC) which UUCC is a member of, has been instrumental in making the Diversion Center a reality. The Cuyahoga County Diversion Center is a first-of-its kind facility in Ohio, working with law enforcement to help individuals who are exhibiting signs and symptoms of a mental illness and/or addiction. These individuals receive the help, care and linkage to community resources they need in a treatment environment rather than going to the County jail.

It has taken time for the Diversion Center to be used to capacity. When it opened in May 2021 only Police officers could refer people to the Diversion Center. Now The Cuyahoga County Diversion Center is accepting self, family and friend referrals. Read more about the specifics here
