Alicia and Aaron Burkle moved to Ohio in 2007 from West Central Pennsylvania. Their original intention was to move to Ohio for graduate school and move on after graduation. Seventeen years later, and with deep roots put down in Cleveland Heights, they couldn’t imagine calling another place “home”.
Alicia, Aaron, Abs (16), and Astrid (11) joined First UU in 2017. Since joining, Alicia has been a member of the Chancel Choir and Women’s Ensemble, and Co-Directed the YoUUth Choir. She served on the youth religious education committee for 3 years and is currently a member of the Strategic Investment Team (SIT3), Director of Religious Exploration (DRE) Search Committee, and the Safety Committee.
Alicia has a BS in Business and an MBA. She is currently a Senior Program Manager in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Cleveland Clinic where she oversees the Employee Resource Groups for the enterprise. Her interests are in creating a diverse, safe, and inclusive environment and fostering a sense of belonging for every caregiver (employee), patient, family, and visitors.
