Food for our Minds and Spirits: Mason, the Guardrail Kid

There are some things in the world that are so uninteresting to me, so boring, and so irrelevant to my daily life that I have never even stopped to think about them. As with many people, I am susceptible to that kind of inescapable inattention that comes with being focused on my own stuff, my own life, my own experience.

Meanwhile there are whole, enormous, human-fueled systems that I rely on every day. And I’m almost only aware of them until something breaks in my own life: the power goes out, a website I rely on stops working, I can’t find what I need at the store. Interconnectedness is not only about what we’re aware of and what we have in the front of our minds. It is also the subsurface realities that weave us with one another.

Guardrails are one of those things I’ve never, ever really noticed. One of the amazing things about constantly learning about the world are the lessons and the teachers you find who help explain the unnoticed world to us.

Mason, who shares his deep wisdom and expertise on TikTok, is a guardrail enthusiast. He has a channel full of videos you would watch to understand more about guardrails and road safety than you could ever want to know! His enthusiasm is over the top, and his knowledge is vast. Most of all, he helps explain the world around me in ways I didn’t understand before I learned from him.

Our interconnections are more “inter” than I ever realized. And I’m grateful for a teacher who was willing to help me see the world for all that it is.

Drive safe, folks!

Sometimes it is hard to tap into our spiritual selves or find time to nurture our creativity and intellectual curiosity. Here is a section that reflects on some nourishing materials from around the web and related media channels in order to get us thinking, get us feeling, and get us reflecting on the lives we are living in this big world. **Some Adult/Mature Themes May Appear in Links and Other Attached Material**
