Food for our Minds and Spirits: Menagerie at the Nativity

Christmas is best when it is for everyone.

Some people don’t want Christmas. Some people don’t want to share Christmas.

Some people are overwhelmed by Christmas. Some people are disappointed by it.

When we tell the Christmas story at UUCC, we are trying to make it for everyone.

This year, the way to make it as everyone-ish as we can manage, we’re telling this holiday story from the point of view of animals––animals of all kinds.

The nativity is said to have taken place in a stable full of animals: sheep, goats, donkeys and other livestock. We’re inviting everyone who joins us to take on the persona of an animal––ANY animal!––so that we can all join in how we tell this story.

It could be some ears worn on your head. It could be a reindeer sweatshirt. It could be a full on TRex costume!

I hope you’ll join in the universalism and the whimsy as we all gather to tell this season story!

Sometimes it is hard to tap into our spiritual selves or find time to nurture our creativity and intellectual curiosity. Here is a section that reflects on some nourishing materials from around the web and related media channels in order to get us thinking, get us feeling, and get us reflecting on the lives we are living in this big world. **Some Adult/Mature Themes May Appear in Links and Other Attached Material**
