Laurie Albright has been a member of First Unitarian Church—and now the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Cleveland—for more than 30 years. During that time, she has shared her gifts in many areas of congregational life, including teaching religious education, participating in Growth Through Service, and serving two terms on the First U Board of Trustees as both Treasurer and President.
Laurie has also been active beyond the congregation, serving on the nominating committee for UU Justice Ohio. At UUCC, she co-facilitated the Beloved Conversations program in 2020, helped develop the congregation’s Strategic Plan, co-chaired the Ministerial Search Committee that called Rev. Dr. Randy Partain, and completed a one-year term on the UUCC Board of Trustees.
Today, Laurie continues to be deeply involved in the life of the congregation as co-chair of the Greater Cleveland Congregations Core Team, a member of the Democracy in Action Team, the Tending Covenant Team, and the Authentic Diversity Covenant group, and one of the organizers of the monthly UUs Together gatherings.
Before retiring in 2022, Laurie worked for many years with the East Cleveland City Schools. She and her husband, Brian Larson, live in University Heights.
