The Ministry for Earth is working with IMPACT to construct a pollinator perennial garden around the new apple trees. Beginning this fall, kids in the IMPACT program and members of the congregation will construct a lasagna mulch – a multi-layered soil-building exercise using cardboard, compost and mulch – around the 1,500 sq. ft. orchard.
We are grateful for the IMPACT board who has already committed $500 for this part of the project, but we need between $500 and $1,000 more for materials. The October 10th collection plate will go towards this initiative.
Money can be given by cash, check, CashApp handle $UUCC44122, and PayPal. UUCC accepts donations for about 1 to 2 weeks after a service. Any funds accepted after that date will go to the current week’s recipient.
