MLK Day of Service Food and Necessities Drive: Donations needed by 1-29

Unity in Community and the Shaker Heights Middle school are collecting donations 1-29-2022. This event was originally scheduled for 1-17 but was delayed due to a snow storm.

Unity in Community is an interfaith collaboration (of which UUCC is a part) will be one of the distribution partners for this year’s MLK Day of Service Food and Necessities Drive. Shaker Scouting in partnership with Shaker Heights PTO Community Builders will collect food, toiletries and baby products on January 29, 2021 at the Shaker Middle School 2 to 4 pm.


Needed items:
FLEECE BLANKETS (new)
TOILETRIES (preferably travel size): Toothbrush, toothpaste, hand wipes, body or hand cream, bandages, shampoo, body soap
TOILETRY BAGS (empty & new)
STUFFED ANIMALS (new): medium size Squishies or Warmies
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: (surgical masks, N95s, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes)
BABY SUPPLIES: (diapers sizes 2-5, baby wipes, baby blankets)
WINTER GEAR: (women’s and kid’s winter coats, hats, gloves)
NON-PERISHABLE FOOD: Canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned proteins (chicken, tuna), canned beans, canned meals (ravioli, chili), canned soup, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal, oatmeal

Items can be dropped off at the Shaker Heights Middle School on Saturday 1-29 from 2 to 4 pm.
