Creative S/Aging

Many cultures have special rites of passage to honor elders. In some communities, this might be called “crone-ing” or “sage-ing,” as we invite elders into a special place of wisdom. Age allows a person to bridge the past and present, so that a community might create a hopeful future. Our dominant culture in the U. S. does a poor job honoring this transition, though. As we age, we are likely to feel forgotten or dismissed by society. How might we more creatively invite the sacred to inform our sense of elderhood?
