“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” This quote comes to us from the French Jesuit priest, paleontologist, philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. In our UU faith, not all of us believe in God… let alone spirits or spiritual beings! In this faith of ours, what might it mean for us to consider ourselves—first and foremost—as spiritual beings? How might such a perspective call us to care for the spiritual parts of our own being and the many spiritual beings with which we share this and other communities?
