The Cleveland Situation

In 1969 The Unitarian Society of Cleveland, then located at E. 82nd and Euclid, gave the church property and a significant amount of its assets to a Black Humanist group. How did this happen?  Why did it happen?  What role did the Black Empowerment Movement play? The UUCC Archives Team will reflect on the story of our evolving congregation from 1836 to the present, with a focus on the pivotal period of 1969-1971.
