Many people think of Easter as a celebration of something being concluded. Our Universalist forebears held that Jesus had resolved our disconnection with God once and for all, and that salvation (connection with the Divine) was guaranteed. But what if Easter marks the beginning of something instead? What if the Easter story is less about a person being raised from the dead, and more about the divine being uncontained and set loose in the world? What would it mean for the Way of Jesus to be alive and present in us, however we might translate that in our personal theology?
