Food insecurity has increased since the pandemic, with an estimated 226,000 people hungry in Cuyahoga County in 2020. Food shortages and increases in food costs have made it difficult for the Cleveland Food Bank to supply distribution sites. Cleveland, with its high level of poverty and food deserts, has a higher rate of food insecurity than Ohio in general. A 21st century plan is a partial solution.
