There will be 2 services on Sunday, December 24:
December 24: Winter Poetry and Prose at 10:15 am
We gather in the Fellowship Hall at 10:15 am on December 24 to share poems and readings about winter, with a few songs that offer a break from Christmas-themed music. Bring a little breakfast to share, bring a favorite wintry poem or passage, or just bring yourself for a time of connection.
December 24: Breath of Heaven at 5:30 pm
Many of us are familiar with the Christmas stories contained in or adapted from the Christian scriptures. Regardless of our personal theologies, we might draw a lot of meaning from those stories, particularly if we’re seeking a moment of comfort and solace. From where can we draw healing breath during a time that can seem overwhelming, both globally and personally. Our worship will also feature an inclusive nativity tableau. Please plan to arrive by 5:30 pm to enjoy preservice music from some of the talented young people of our community. You’re also invited to remain after the service for a time of food and connection.
5:30 pm: Preservice music
6:00 pm: Worship Service with Tableau and Candle Lighting
7:15 pm: Food and connection in Fellowship Hall
Post-Christmas Eve Service Dessert & Appetizer Potluck is on!
Bring your favorite Desserts & Appetizers, BYOB, prior to the service, drop them off downstairs and be prepared to enjoy some festivities after the service. We’ll be providing hot cider, soft drinks, and the ubiquitous coffee & tea. We’ll have tables set up and dessert plates out & ready for after the service.
2-3 Volunteers are needed before the service to help setup tables, chairs, receive and setup the incoming food. Get plates, silver, glasses ready. Other similar duties as needed.
2-3 Volunteers are also needed to help break down the tables, chairs, and otherwise put stuff away.
