When I began attending various committee meetings during my first few months at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Cleveland, I was struck by a line that appears in a few of the covenants adopted by these ministries: “Let’s get it done.” What is “it” exactly? What is the thing that we are supposed to be getting done together? To be clear, I’m not criticizing any of the committees, ministries, or covenants of the Congregation. Honestly, the specific words of our covenants may matter less than the ideals and commitments those words represent. Kind of like the difference between a map and the territory it represents. So, do you know what “it” is?
See you in-person Sunday morning. Services will also be live-streamed on Facebook or on YouTube.
