As we recognize the importance of Coming Out Day (October 11), we also take time to consider how we show up in our various relationships. Are we honest and authentic about what we need and what we have to offer? Do we put on masks and pretend to be someone other than our authentic selves? Maybe we have good reasons to hide some aspect of who we are in certain circumstances. Being our authentic selves can feel vulnerable. But we also might be waiting for someone’s permission to bring our full, authentic selves forward. Whose permission do you need most?
