Share your thoughts on the theme of ‘Connections”at the Upcoming Hyde Park Service on August 28th

We are looking for three or four more participants for the upcoming Hyde Park service on August 28. Share your thoughts on the theme of Connections in a 3 to 4 minute reflection. Consider your connection to your ancestors, the earth, the cosmos, animals, or beloved community. What does our UU principal about the interconnected web of all existence mean to you? Please contact Amy Collins if you are interested in and able to participate at amymcollins@sbcglobal.net.

What is Hyde Park?
Speakers’ Corner is an area where open-air public speaking, debate, and discussion are allowed. The original and best known is in the northeast corner of Hyde Park in LondonEngland. Historically there were a number of other areas designated as Speakers’ Corners in other parks in London, such as Lincoln’s Inn FieldsFinsbury ParkClapham CommonKennington Park, and Victoria Park. Areas for Speakers’ Corners have been established in other countries and elsewhere in the UK.

Speakers here may talk on any subject, as long as the police consider their speeches lawful, although this right is not restricted to Speakers’ Corner only. Contrary to popular belief, there is no immunity from the law, nor are any subjects proscribed, but in practice the police intervene only when they receive a complaint.[1] On some occasions in the past, they have intervened on grounds of profanity.[2]

UUCC is adopting this idea for our service on August 28, 2022. Its a chance for your to share your thoughts on the theme of Connections
