We’ve spent the summer exploring the call to bridge the gap between current reality and a vision of shalom. Our protective promises (as individuals and as community) tend to keep us stuck on one side of that gap, but it’s possible for us to renounce those ways of being that no longer serve us and give our word to something new. Something that embodies our life-affirming values with greater integrity. Our water ceremony offers that opportunity.
